Althoughusb C is quickly becoming the new standard, USB A has been the the standard since the late 90s meaning there are more peripherals using the older USB A style connections in the world than C. This makes it easy to plug in your USB devices either at your desk or (since its small, lightweight and does not need external power) on the go.

As for product bandwidth, it allows Display projection as well as high speed ethernet/network/internet connectivity at the same time.
